On Sunday, April 7, 2019, my family and I went to a fusion restaurant called “Okotte Ramen”. I was pretty impressed by the looking of the restaurant. I loved the way black wood was designed on the walls inside the bistro. It isn’t any kind of rough black wood, it looks smooth. The design of the bistro really matches the food they served there. It wasn’t a crowded restaurant but I saw few families which were mostly young parents bringing their infants or toddlers. While coming in to the restaurant, I first hear the sound of pop music and toddlers whining in distinct. I hear the sound of conversations between people and waitress, the chef stirring and frying, and money clinking. When I am comfortable in my seat and the food is being served, I hear the sound of curry rice still being fried on the hot pot. Most of their food is served hot, so I can’t eat it right away no matter how starving I was.

They serve mix culture foods such as Chinese, Japanese, and Western. Once you are cozy in your seat, you order food by choosing from the menu and call the waitress or waiter. I ordered a curry rice with fried chicken. The food they served is local because they used Canadian chicken to make it. Although they serve the food fast, it is quite cheap. It is also consumed together as family and friends. I can smell smoke because the majority of their food is fried. Their curry rice dish has a colour, mainly dark red and brown because of the curry and fried chicken. Their chicken is very tender and soft, while the rice is hard because they fried it. It’s so unique how the chicken is local in Canada, but the results look like it is made from overseas. Overall, I am very pleased to be their guest in this particular restaurant. If you go there to eat as well, you’ll be overly satisfied as I am!
